In 2012, Siris Publishing was formed to provide app publishing and advertising options to non-technical businesses. Siris Publishing is a subsidiary of Siris Development, Inc. (SDI). SDI started in 2001 in North Carolina as a web development company. As the mobile industry began to take shape in the late 2000's, SDI turned its focus to mobile. SDI initially developed apps for Android and currently has over 1.5MM downloads and over 100MM monthly ad impressions. Since then, SDI has expanded into iPhone, Kindle, Nook and other markets.
